Weekend Recap

My centerpiece!

My work buddies Maggie and Anna

This past weekend was my 2nd annual Christmas party. This year's attendance was over triple that of the first year so I spent most of the weekend getting everything ready. The biggest thing I have learned about getting a new place is that furnishing rooms the way you want has to be a gradual process! So between getting household decor that I had been putting off and my ambitious menu, things were hectic to say the least! I am never a good judge of how much food to make, so I ended up with about 13 items. I made 3 dips: taco, buffalo chicken, and spinach dips. I also made mini quiche, mini hamburgers, and cocktail weenies in BBQ sauce. For dessert, we had caramel bars, butterscotch candy, peanut butter brownie cupcakes, and chocolate kiss cookies. I also made a Christmasy punch that was a big hit. Below is a picture of the layout!

And this is a picture of everybody gathering in the kitchen, closest to the food!

I also had to come up with a way to get rid of all the food since I a traveling this week and I didn't want it to go to waste, so I bought these Christmas take-out boxes and got coordinating paper and everybody got to take some food home with them. It was a win win for everybody!

Then Sunday I spent most of the day recovering and cleaning. Then my friend Susu came over to help me eat the leftovers and we watched White Christmas. Hope everybody had as fabulous of a weekend as I did!
