New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! I thought while I had some time at the airport I would go ahead and post my Top 5 Friday: New Year's Edition. I usually do not make New Years resolutions because I never stick to them and they almost always deal with diet and/or exercise. But this year I thought why not?!? So here it goes!

1). Keep my cooking challenge: In case you haven't read my posts lately, a few posts ago I unveiled my cooking challenge to cook my way through the alphabet. Since this challenge will last 26 weeks, it is going to be pretty tricky to keep up with but I am up for the challenge!

2). Read my devotional every day: I picked up a brand new devotional book today and am really excited about reading it on a daily basis. Normally I start out at the beginning of the week reading every night but usually by the end of the week I skip a day and then I get behind on my days. This year I want to make sure I spend time with God daily.

3). Keep a positive attitude: With the worst few months for my profession starting now, it is very easy to be negative. This year I am going to try to be positive about live and try to remember that I am here for a reason, so I should try to make the best of it!

4). Work out early: I am definitely not a morning person, so the idea of waking up early to work out usually only works in theory. But I found out the hard way and several lbs later that if I don't work out in the morning, I won't do it. So in conjunction with eating better, I will work on getting up early to sweat it out!

5). Create a garden retreat: when I moved in my house, I had to decorate in phases. My outdoor courtyard kind of got put on the back burner. But this year, I really want to work on making all my ideas a reality, from a wooden bench to a wall to wall trellis, it's got alot of potential!

Happy New Years everybody! Stay tuned for a recap of my trip to New York!
